Burns, Oregon 10/29/2012 60 degrees and windy.....
OK, 1,2,3 blog easy? Really? I got this far I guess, so YEAH!
After 8 days in the forest, no elk, rats! Thank goodness there is a pig in the barn and a butcher steer on the way. There is always eggs and chickens.
Yesterday while picking up the leaves I found a dandelion, in full bloom. I think they are pesky but reminded me of how yellow, yellow can be. I had an idea and I think it will work out great. I used the leaves for flooring in the chicken coop and spread them around the chicken yard. Last year the winter side of the chicken yard produced a nice crop of banana and Hubbard squashes this summer. All by accident but don't we learn from those? When I move the chickens next year to the summer yard after it floods will be planting a few of my own squash in that winter pen. Good job girls and thanks for the squash!
Question of the Day:
Do you think that when we die we are just going home?
